Birdie is a once in a lifetime dog. She weighs 65lbs and is very intelligent and athletic. She is fast and driven yet steady, calm, quiet and focused on the line. She runs hard straight lines, handles precisely and is an incredible marking dog. She is a naturally honest dog and loves the water. She is 100% amateur trained. She is a great team player and wants to please. She learns quickly and received her AKC Master Hunter (MH) after 6 consecutive passes at just 17 months old. She took second place in her first field trial at 18 months old which made her one of only 113 dogs to qualify for the National Derby Championship. She Qualified All Age (QAA) in her third field trial and then went a perfect 9 for 9 in the HRC Finished division and received her Hunting Retriever Champion (HRCH) title. She is an excellent hunting dog and has retrieved hundreds of wild birds in her first three seasons. My granddaughter who had just turned seven ran her in an AKC Junior hunt test and got a ribbon. She is an excellent pet and family dog.
